Following an extensive feasibility study to consider alternative locations for additional teaching space, a restriction on funding and consequent trimming of requirements led to an extension to an existing Teaching Block, for a total of four classrooms, three being 65sq.m. each, and the fourth being an 85sq.m. ICT suite.

The extension naturally continued the reconstructed stone walling material of the existing building, but uses high performance aluminium-faced timber windows, and a shallow pitch aluminium standing seam roof, with a structural steel frame.

The spacious rooms have heated floor screeds, are well-lit, and have additional clerestory windows above the corridor roof to improve ventilation. The ICT suite benefits from air conditioning which is reversible for winter heating.
