For village schools, the building of a new Hall is a major event in the community; Hullavington CE Primary School is no exception and it had been long awaited. The existing school had been built in the early 1970s without a Hall, and growth was answered by the erection of mobile classrooms on the land behind the school.

Four single and one double mobile classroom building occupied this site in late 2001 when it was decided to brief this building. Up until then, Hall activities had been squeezed into one of the temporary classrooms, with obvious limitations.

The new accommodation, developed as an independent extension of the original school, provides space for the PE curriculum, drama, school assembly and dining facilities.

The materials selected: coursed rubble stone walling, aluminium standing seam roof and aluminium windows and doors provide a solid, contemporary form that is complementary to the existing building group of differing styles and period.
