Orchard House is a 2-storey detached building, originally dating from the late 18th century, and is listed grade 2. It has been extended at intervals during the 20th century towards the rear to provide more up-to-date facilities for the expanding population of the home.
The scheme has involved carrying out access improvements in response to an Access Audit, and substantial internal replanning to provide bedrooms and washing facilities that we are consistent with the latest standards.
The expansion of administration on site has required the extension of office facilities, and this has been combined with a new entrance that clearly asserts itself to overcome previous confusion over access into the building.
The use of good quality matching brickwork with glass and lead creates a contemporary entrance area, and new internal colour-schemes extend a refreshing atmosphere throughout the building.
